Prepared to be disappointed.
My name is Carissa King and no, I don’t have an awesome weight loss story for you to be inspired by. Sorry. I could lie and tell you I used to weigh 300 pounds and inspire and motivate you with my struggles. You could smile at the end as I told you I emerged victorious and now I’m at a normal weight.
But, that would all be a lie. And I don’t like liars. Do you?
So lets start over.
My name is Carissa King and I am a normal person. Shock and awe. I’m 20 years old and a full-time student. I love photography, cooking, healthy eating, exercise, being goofy, and smiling. Aww. I started my health journey about two years ago when I began having heart palpitations. I went to the doctor time and time again, countless EKGs and they sent me away telling me nothing was wrong. Looking back, I probably wasn’t having as many as I thought; I’d have one, scare myself and have a pounding heart. Nevertheless, I decided the only thing I could do for my heart and body was to treat it right. So I began running and trading Little Caesar’s for salad. I was never really unhealthy, I always tried to pick a healthy option, but I just didn’t care about being the healthiest I could be all the time. I ate doughnuts at max four times a year and usually chose juice over soda. Not bad for a teenager, if I do say so myself.
Now I traded my juice for water and strive to be healthier than the day before. I would like to lose weight, or at least stay the same. I’ll be honest, I’m comfortable enough with my life that I’ve avoided counting calories or not eating carbs. I hate counting calories and I love my pasta.
I love cooking and finding ways I can make a recipe healthier.
On the other end of the spectrum, I love baking and hope to be able to sell my cupcakes one day. But usually, people don’t oooh and ahh over healthy cupcakes, so at least I can indulge in baking something unhealthy!
